La Pastora Tarrazu
Republic of Costa Rica
A Balanced coffee. Great citric acidity and some apricot notes with a well body.
The La Pastora comes from the Coope Tarrazu RL. The Cooperative was founded in 1960 from 228 small coffee farmers. Today they are one of the famous coffee exporters in Costa Rica. Reason for that is the good quality! This crop they work together with 3000 producers/ members; more then 80% of the farmers just have 4 hectares or less. The Coop. helps his members with credits, technical service, fertilizers and much more.
Today we have 250 wet mills in Costa Rica; just some years ago we had 100. Reason for that is that farmers like to take care for the quality as long as they can. More then the half of the coffee crop are exported to the USA. Over 1 million tourist from the USA visit Costa Rica; most interesting region is Tarrazu (also for the European).
